π― The Tiger, the Traveler, and the Jackal π¦
(A Panchatantra Tale of Wisdom and Quick Thinking)
One day, a traveler passed by a cage where a tiger was trapped.
βPlease free me!β the tiger begged. βI will not harm you.β
The kind traveler opened the cage. But once free, the tiger said, βNow Iβm hungry β and youβll be my meal.β
The man cried, βThatβs unfair! Letβs ask someone if what youβre doing is right.β
They asked a tree and a buffalo β both said, βYes, humans are cruel; the tiger may eat him.β
Finally, they met a clever jackal.
The jackal said, βI donβt understand. Show me how the man opened the cage.β
When the tiger went back inside to demonstrate, the jackal quickly shut the door and locked it.
The traveler bowed and said, βThank you, wise friend!β
